In the winter of 1907, inside a quiet house at the edge of town, a father kept watch beside the bed of his dying child. Doctors had come and gone, each leaving with the same grim warning: the child would not live to see Christmas morning. The father began searching for anything that might save his child. Old books, forgotten prayers, ect.
One snowy Christmas Eve night, he performed a ritual he had found in a forbidden journal. He placed a porcelain baby doll in the center of a circle of candles and begged anything to save his child.
Something answered.
The air turned cold, the candles burned black, and a voice spoke from the shadows. A demon from hell offered a bargain:
The child would live... but the demon wanted a vessel in the world of the living.
The father agreed the demon could enter the doll.
At that exact moment, the child in the next room suddenly began breathing normally.
But the demon had one final condition.
Anyone who wished to touch the doll must ask permission first.
At first the father obeyed the rule, warning anyone who came near it. But over the years, people forgot the story. Visitors picked it up out of curiosity. Those people were later found dead, often with strange red cracks appearing across the doll’s face afterward.
The father eventually vanished, leaving the doll behind.
Now the rule is whispered wherever the doll appears:
If you see it… never pick it up.
And if you absolutely must touch it…
