***FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY***
In the spring of 1912, eight-year-old Eleanor Whitmore lived with her family in a small farmhouse nestled beneath a steep hillside. Her most treasured possession was a handmade doll with golden curls and a burgundy dress, a gift from her mother on her seventh birthday. Eleanor carried the doll everywhere, even sleeping with it tucked tightly in her arms each night.
After days of relentless rain, the hillside above the Whitmore property gave way. In the darkness before dawn, a massive mudslide crashed through the home. The family never had a chance to escape. When rescuers arrived days later, they found only fragments of the house buried beneath layers of mud and debris.
Workers clearing the land uncovered the doll. Strangely, the doll remained largely intact.
The haunting began after the doll was taken from the site.
Owners reported hearing a little girl softly humming in empty rooms. Muddy footprints would appear across floors overnight, leading to wherever the doll had been placed. Some swore they saw the doll's cracked face change expression when no one was looking. The longer it remained in a home, the more intense the activity became.
Paranormal investigators believe Eleanor's spirit never attached itself to the house, but to the object she loved most. Trapped during the terror of the mudslide and unable to move on, her final emotions—fear, confusion, and desperation—became bound to the doll.
